December Cricut Class

Merry Christmas everyone!

This month we are making tags. These are big 5" tags that would be great on gifts. After I took the pictures, I added some green and red ribbons to the top of each tag.

All of the tags can be found on the Phrases cartridge.

Our first tag is a cute Santa from the Simply Charmed cartridge. He is ready to deliver gifts to all the good girls and boys.

Our cute snowman is from the Winter Woodland cartridge. He is bringing warm winter wishes to a special someone.

The Merry and Bright Christmas tree is from the Winter Frolic cartridge. This tag would look great on a gift under your tree!

This pretty angel is from the Quilted Christmas cartridge. She is ready to spread joy to a lucky person on your gift list.

Our last tag is a great silver bell and holly from the Teresa Collins December 25th cartridge.

I only have one class this month on Friday, December 12 at 10:30 am. Contact Craft Fancy for more information.

November Cricut Class

Welcome to the November Circut Class. This month we are making Christmas Cards. I've got some new Christmas cartridges that we are going to use. So let's get started.

First up we have some pretty little ornaments. These are from the Merry and Bright cartridge. The branch is from the Picturesque cartridge. I've added some gems and I think we might add some stickles to them to make them glitter just a bit.

Our next card is a Nativity scene from the Teresa Collins December 25th cartridge. I love the simple silhouette style of this card.

The next two cards are from the Wild Card and Art Philosophy cartridges. I used the cut out portion of the trees on the circle card to make the trees on the second card.

Our last item is a post-it note holder. The flower on the back is from the Holiday Cards cartridge and the swirls are from Graphically Speaking.

Class will be held on Friday, November 21 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at Craft Fancy. Hope to see you there.

October Cricut Class

Hi Everyone!

I know this is very late - but here are the cards for my October Cricut classes.

Our first one isn't a card, but a cute leaf box from the Fall & Winter Tablescapes cartridge. It would be great for little Thanksgiving treats.

The Happy Fall card is from the Accent Essentials and Artiste cartridges. I really like the crunched up and distressed leaves.

More fall leaves and acorns on this card. I used Small Talk Frames and the Art Philosophy cartridges on this card.

The single leaf card is from the Accent Essentials and Artbooking cartridges. I like the round window in the card.

Our last card was made using the new Print then Cut function on the Cricut Explore machine. It is a pretty cool way to make a card, especially when your images have lots of little pieces like these from Create a Critter 2.

The next class will be Friday, October 24 at 10:30 am.

If you are interested in learning more about the new Explore machine, I will be holding an Explore the Explore class on Wednesday, October 29. Class times are 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30 - 7:30 pm

September Cricut Class

Hello everyone! This month we are celebrating Halloween. It's a month early I know, but if you want to send Halloween cards, you need to get them done early!

Usually we make five cards in class this month we have four cards and a candle holder. The candle holder is from the Pumpkin Carving cartridge. This cartridge has some great pumpkin faces on it. I've picked out three and "Trick or Treat" for my box.

Our first card is from the Wild Card cartridge. This happy pumpkin will bring a smile to the face of whoever you send it to.

Our next card is kind of special. The little ghost spins his way into the haunted house! The cartridges used for this card are Happy Hauntings and Artbooking. The tree in the background is from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.

The next card is an S fold card with little cutouts for the sentiment. The cute pirate ghost is from the Create a Critter 2 cartridge. The bats are from Happy Hauntings cartridge.

Our last card is a witch from the Wrap It Up cartridge. The word "Beware"is from Artbooking.

Classes are:

Monday, September 8 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm & 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Friday, September 12 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

August Cricut Class

Edited August 21, 2014
I really shouldn't do a blog post when I don't have all the information with me! Some of the cartridges listed were incorrect. They have been changed!

I'm sorry this is so late, time (and vacation) got away from me this month.

This month we are making flower cards suitable for any occasion.

These four flowers are from the Artiste Cartridge. Take some pretty watercolor looking paper and add some color blocking and you have a pretty card for that special someone.

This flower duo is from the Simply Sweet cartridge. Some more of that lovely watercolor look paper sets off the flowers nicely.

It is kind of hard to tell in the photo, but the background paper on this card is a brick wall. The flowers are from the Disney Classics cartridge. The doily is from the Artiste cartridge.

This simple circle card is from the Accent Essentials cartridge. Can you tell that I really like this flower paper?

Our final card is from the Pack Your Bags cartridge. Several different strips of papers show off this tropical flower.

Classes are held at Craft Fancy.

Class dates: Friday, August 22 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Monday, August 25 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm & 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Happy July!

I'm a little late with my cards for this month. It's a good thing that classes aren't scheduled till the end of the month! We are celebrating birthdays this month.

Our first card is a trio of gifts. I used the Straight from the Nest cartridge for this card.

Our next card is a trio of animals who are ready to party! They are from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge.

Everyone needs a cupcake (or 2 or 3!) for their Birthday! This chocolate one is from the Wild Card 2 cartridge.

Get ready to make a wish with a candle from the Pretty Pennants cartridge.

Our final card is a pretty Birthday cake from the Disney Classics cartridge.

Class dates are:

June Cricut Class

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I am so glad to finally have some warm weather.

Here are the cards for the June Cricut Workshop at Craft Fancy. This month we are making Thank You cards. I really like the vintage look of the Pink Paislee Hope Chest paper line.

This elegant looking card is from the Lacy Labels cartridge. The letters are from the Artbooking cartridge.

Next up is a pretty trio of flowers from the Accent Essentials cartridge. I love the look of stacked, distressed flowers.

Sometimes you need a really simple card, and this is it. The flower is from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge and the letters are from the Artiste Cartridge.

On the other hand, a little whimsy is fun too. The cute little sheep is from the Create a Critter Cartridge.  He looks like he has been having a good time playing in the dirt! The letters are from the Jubilee cartridge.

Our final card is a perfect Thank You for a new Mom. This cute little onsie is from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge. The Thank You is from the Simply Sweet cartridge.

Class dates are:
Friday, June 13 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Monday, June 23 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm; 5:30 - 7:0 pm

Hope to see you in a class!

May Cricut Class

Happy Spring! The weather has finally warmed up and the trees and flowers are blooming, so lets make some springy cards!

This month we are making get well cards.  I recently got the new Cricut Explore machine and had a lot of fun learning how to use the design software while designing these cards. There are still some things to learn, but I think I've got the basics down.

Our first card is a pretty daffodil on a lattice background.  The daffodil is from the Walk In My Garden cartridge and the background is from Artbooking.

Want to send flowers to someone? This pot of posies will brighten their day. The flower pot is from Walk in My Garden and the flowers and leaves are from Plantin Schoolbook.

On the lighter side is a trio of bandages from Everyday Pop Up Cards. I couldn't resist using them on a card. The blue background was cut from the Elegant Edges Cartridge.

Sometimes you just need a silly card to cheer someone up. This get whale soon card will do just that. It is from the Just Because Cards cartridge. The waves are from Artbooking.

Our last card doesn't really look like a card, but it will fold up and fit in an A2 size envelope. This type of box card has been very popular on the internet lately and I had to make one (or two, or three). The flowers are from Walk in My Garden and the pink shape is from Elegant Edges. After I finished this card, I found a couple of other options for the get well sentiment, so that may change.

Classes are:
Friday, May 16: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Monday, May 19: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm; 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Happy Easter!

Thought I would share the Easter Bunny wreath I made yesterday. I just got the new Cricut Explore machine and thought I would do something fun for my first project.

To make the wreath you will need the following:

Create A Critter 2 cartridge
A 9" wooden embroidery hoop
Cardstock
Pattern Paper (I used the Doodlebug Springtime collection)
Adhesive to put the bunnies and eggs together
Glossy Accents to glue the elements to the embroidery hoop
Ribbon or string for hanging

Everything is cut from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge. Here are the links to the Cricut Design Space files I created.

The first file is for the bunnies:
https://www.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/project/16171780

The second file is for the eggs.
https://www.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/project/16172640 - cut 3 sets of the card stock eggs and 3 sets of the pattern paper eggs.

For other Cricut machines:

The white bunny & eggs can be found on page 40 of the handbook.

Cut three bunnies at 4" - There are three layers: a brown layer, a white layer and a pink layer (I did not cut the shadow layer)

Cut three eggs at 4" (there are two eggs per cut) - There are four layers for the eggs: a yellow layer, a green layer, a purple layer and a pink layer.

Cut the egg shadow layer at 4". The paper I used is two sided, so I cut a set of eggs on three different pieces of paper.

The chocolate bunnies are on page 42 of the handbook.

Cut three bunnies at 2.5 inches - There are three layers: a black layer, a brown layer and a pink layer (I did not cut the shadow layer).

To assemble the wreath, glue the bunny layers and egg layers together.

Lay the embroidery hoop on your table with the screw at the top. This is where you will attach your ribbon or string for hanging.

I like to lay my pieces around the hoop to make sure that I like the placement before I glue anything down. I started glueing with the white bunny at the bottom of the wreath and then worked my way around both sides until I got to the top of the wreath. Let the wreath dry and enjoy!

If you have any questions  please let me know. If you make a wreath, please post a link to a photo in the comments so I can see your wreath.

March Cricut Class

I know we are all tired of the snow and ice and eagerly awaiting spring, if it ever gets here. I though we could use some pretty flower cards this month.

These cards are perfect for birthday, thinking of you or sympathy cards. I like the little touches of ribbon on most of the cards. I'm still trying to figure out how to add ribbon to the single flower card.

There are only four cards here. I will add the last card after I get back from vacation.

The first card is a trio of flowers from the Art Philosophy cartridge.

Our next card is a simple flower from the Kate's ABC's cartridge.

Three little posies in a vase from the Beyond Birthdays cartridge.

Our final trio of flowers are from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.

Class date:
Friday, March 28 - 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
