December Cricut Classes

I can't believe it is December already, where has this year gone? I want to thank everyone for taking my classes this year. I enjoy designing cards and sharing them with you.

This month we are focusing on cards for men. We have a thank you card, a birthday card and several that can be used for any occasion.

First up is the Thanks card. This card is from the Artiste Cartridge.

Next is a radio from the Nifty Fifties cartridge.

So this next one may not be for a guy, but I couldn't resist this little gift giving mouse.
He is from the Winter Frolic cartridge.

Next up we have a guy relaxing in a hammock. This one is from the Wild Card 2 cartridge.

And finally my favorite, a S'mores Snowman. Isn't he cute? He is from the Accent Essentials and Winter Frolic cartridges.

We only have one class this month because of the holidays; Friday, December 6 at 10:30. Hope to see you there.

Happy Holidays!

Christmas is Coming!

I know this is really late. I had the idea to do an Advent Calendar for this month's classes. It all started well and then I ran into some problems with my first idea. The second idea was cute, but didn't get rave reviews from the family. So finally, Steve took part of my second idea and came up with this house. (I'm going to turn him into a crafter yet!)

So here it is - the Christmas countdown house.

I used the following cartridges: Christmas Cheer;Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2; Create a Critter 2; Freshly Picked and Artiste.

Class dates are:
Friday, November 15 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Tuesday, November 19 -10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30 - 7:30 pm

October Cricut Class

Happy Fall! Hope you are enjoying the cooler weather and the beautiful fall colors.

We are making Thankful/Thanksgiving cards in classes this month. I love using fall colors in cards.

All the cards are made with kraft cardstock. It was a cloudy day when I took the pictures, so they didn't turn out as well as I would have liked.

Our first card is from the Artbooking and Cricut Sampler cartridges. Such pretty leaves. We will save the cut out word "thanks" for another card.

The next card is from the Accent Essentials cartridge.  The sentiment was done in the Cricut Craft Room (I'll provide that cut.) I'm kind of obsessed with hexagons lately.

The cute little owl is from the Straight from the Nest cartridge.

A little turkey from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge.

The last card is a mix of cartridges. The leaves are from the Artbooking Cartridge. The "thanks" is the cut out from the first card and the acorn is from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge.

Class dates are:
Tuesday, October 15 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Friday, October 18 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Hope to see you in class!

September Cricut Classes

Hey everyone, this month I have a batch of Halloween cards for you. So grab some candy corn and peanuts and lets take a look.

This witches hat isn't too scary, but I'm not sure about that spider hanging off the top, maybe that's what all those eyes are looking at! This one is from The Happy Hauntings cartridge. It looks pretty stylish don't you think?

This cute bat is hiding a message under his wings! He is from the Artiste cartridge. Hope he doesn't scare anyone away.

Our spooky spider (say that three times fast!) is fro. The Art Booking cartridge. I love the web. I might have to add some stickles to it to make it sparkle a little bit.

This tall spider is from Stretch Your Imagination. I like that he looks like he is wearing boots! I haven't tried very many of the card cuts on this cartridge, but I like the way they turn out. The little purple frame is cute don't you think?

And finally, my favorite little monsters. Aren't they cute? Hope they enjoy the Monster Bash! These little guys are from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge.

Class dates are:
Tuesday, September 17 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm & 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Friday, September 20 - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Hope to see you in class, there just might be some treats for you!

August Quilling Class

Hi Everyone! I have quite a variety of cards for you this month.

My lovely assistant, also known as Melissa, made a few suggestions when I was stuck for ideas. Here is what she came up with:

A rainbow and clouds.

A pretty hummingbird and flower that we found in a quilling kit. The hummingbird is easier than it looks.

Some cute Birthday balloons.

The idea for this one came from a Post-it note I was using to put glue on. (Inspiration come from unlikely places.) I think it looks like a 1960's Hawaiian design (can you tell I'd rather be at the beach!).

Class dates are:
Monday, August 26: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30 - 7:30 pm.

Hope to see you in a class.

August Cricut Class

Hi Everyone - Hope you are having a wonderful summer. I can't believe it it already August.

When I asked for suggestions for cards this month, someone suggested sympathy cards. So here they are. They could also be used for other occasions.

I've been wanting to do something with this branch ever since I saw it in the Art Philosophy booklet. I think it makes beautiful, simple card.

This card is from the Flower Shoppe cartridge. This cartridge also makes dimensional flowers and has some great leaves on it.

This card is from the Creative Cards cartridge. It would also be a great birthday card.

This card is from the Freshly Picked cartridge. I also used one of the Tim Holtz bookplate embossing folders.

There is a fifth card, but somehow I didn't get a picture of it. I'll post one tomorrow.

Classes are:
Tuesday, August 20: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Friday, August 23: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Hope to see you in class.

Today is the first day of Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2. Today's lesson is Colors and Sketches. Here is what I made.

The background paper is some older paper from my stash. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks and the Basic Grey Indie Girl stamp set for the chevrons. The sending hugs stamp is from a Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit and I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The flowers and brad are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

On My Needles...

I haven't posted any knitting projects lately, so I thought I would share a few things that I am working on now. (There are many more, but we will save them for another time!)

This is the sock I am working on with my students in my Beginning Sock Knitting class at Fuzzy Wuzzy. I have two students this time, and if they do their homework, they will have a finished sock after next Wednesdays class. I'm using a Crazy Zauberball by Schoppel Wolle in my favorite colors. I like the way the colors melt into each other.

Fuzzy Wuzzy is having a knit-a-long sponsored by Classic Elite yarns. This is the project I'm working on. I'm using Classic Silk which is a silk and cotton yarn. The yarn is really soft and will make a great summer top.

The last project for today is also a sweater using Berroco Lustra. Our Tuesday night knitting group decided to knit the February Lady Sweater (we started in February). Progress has been a little slow due to a mistake in counting that needed to be ripped back several rows and samples that need to be made for two knitting classes. In the middle of all that my friend Julie and I decided that since we had knit this sweater before we would modify it a bit. We decided to change the lace pattern to a cable and lace one and are working out the pattern changes. I'll keep you posted on our progress.

Thanks for stopping by.
