We had a great 4th of July. The parade went right by our apartment. We were surprised at how many people put out blankets and chairs the night before to save their spot. After the parade, we drove to Milwaukee to go to Summerfest. One of our favorite bands from LA, Suburban Legends was performing there. We got to meet the band afterward and they all signed their new CD's for Melissa and Karen.
Last Friday night Melissa and I went to a crop at the new scrapbook store in town. (By the way, Melissa started working there part-time this week.) A yummy dinner and snacks were included. I was able to get three pages done and Melissa finished up a mini book that she was working on.
Some miscellaneous pictures from cruises. This was a challenge from my on-line group. The challenge was to do a "manly" page since most of us do girly pages most of the time.
A page of all the things we did in June. The picture is from the John Pizzarelli concert we went to at Elmhurst college.
On the 24th, we went downtown to see Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me a radio show on public radio. You can also listen to it as a podcast on iTunes. This is the second time we have gone to see this show and I'm sure we will do it again since it is so much fun.
I also did several cards this week, but forgot to scan them before I put them in the mail.
I've been doing quite a bit of knitting this week too. I haven't finished anything, just working a little bit on all of the things I have on needles. Steve thinks I need to reduce the amount of yarn that is in the storage locker downstairs, (for some reason he thinks we have other things we need to store besides yarn!) so I think I'll pull out the knitting machine while they are at Lollapalooza on Friday and Sunday and see how many blankets I can knit up.
